Berlin Center for the Treatment of Torture Victims (BZFO)

(in German) The Berlin Center for the Treatment of Torture Victims (BZFO) was founded in 1992 with support from the German Red Cross. The BZFO is a non-profit association committed to the rehabilitation of torture victims. The idea for the establishment of a treatment center was born out of the confrontation with the history of Nazi medicine, the subsequent refusal of a large part of the German medical profession to face up to the Holocaust survivors and to grant them reparation and rehabilitation.
