From criminalization to erasure: Project 2025 and anti-trans legislation in the US

Many would be quick to point out that LGBTQ + rights have come a long way in recent years. Indeed, the past two decades have largely been characterized by mainstream media as emancipatory for LGBTQ + communities, with gains like marriage equality, hate-crime legislations and anti-discrimination protections. Despite what appears to be a slow march towards inclusion, the post-marriage equality era has ushered in a virulent backlash.
